LG Innotek is heading to Munich, Germany, this week to showcase its latest automotive lighting technology. The company will attend the Driving Vision News (DVN) Lighting Workshop on Wednesday and Thursday. This event brings together car manufacturers, suppliers, and government officials from around the world to discuss the future of how vehicles look and communicate.

The main attraction at the LG Innotek booth is the Nexlide Pixel. This technology recently won an Innovation Award at CES 2026 because of its tiny light size. Each pixel is only 2 millimeters by 2 millimeters, which is currently the smallest in the industry. Because the lights are so small and packed together, they act like a high-definition screen on the car’s exterior. Drivers can use these lights to show clear images or text to people outside the vehicle. For example, a car could display a warning message during an emergency or even show a custom emoji to express the driver’s personality.

The company is also bringing Nexlide Air, a very light product made of silicone. Engineers designed it specifically to fit onto car bumpers and front grilles where weight and space are important. Visitors will also see the Nexlide Cube, which creates a “floating” visual effect using multiple layers of light, and Nexlide C+, which shows different 3D patterns depending on the angle of the viewer.

LG Innotek has a massive goal for these products. It wants to grow its lighting business into a trillion-won operation by 2030. To get there, the company is focusing heavily on the European market. After the Munich event ends, LG Innotek plans to host several roadshows to pitch these lights directly to major European car brands and parts suppliers.

Yoo Byaeng-kuk, the head of the company’s mobility unit, said they want to become a top technology partner in Europe, North America, and Japan. He noted that these innovative lights give drivers a completely different experience. By moving beyond simple headlights and into digital displays, LG Innotek hopes to lead the way in how cars “talk” to the world around them.
