Google has expanded its Gemini-powered features, including an image generator, to more Chrome users. After first launching in the United States, these tools are now available in Canada, India, and New Zealand. The update also adds support for 50 new languages. Users can now chat with Gemini in Chrome in languages such as French, Gujarati, Hindi, and Spanish.
To try out Gemini in Chrome, simply click the sparkle icon located at the top right of your browser. This action opens a sidebar interface that Google first introduced in January.
From this sidebar, you can talk to Google’s Gemini chatbot directly without needing to open a new tab. This integrated chat feature makes it easier to get quick answers or help with tasks. The sidebar also gives you access to Google’s own image generator. This means you can create images right inside your Chrome browser.
Beyond chat and image generation, Gemini in Chrome also works with other Google apps. It integrates with services like Gmail, Maps, Calendar, and YouTube, making it a powerful assistant.
If you live outside of Canada, India, or New Zealand, don’t worry. Google plans to roll out Gemini in Chrome to more countries and languages throughout the rest of 2026. For those who prefer not to use Gemini in Chrome, there’s an easy way to hide it. You can simply right-click the sparkle icon and choose “unpin” to remove it from your view.
