Superhuman is giving its email app a major brain boost. The company just released an update that makes its software act much more like a real personal assistant. Previously, the “Write with AI” feature only helped you polish the specific email you were currently typing. Now, it connects to your entire digital life.
The updated AI can now scan your inbox, check your calendar, and even search the live web to find answers. When you give it a prompt, the system will take a moment to “think” and gather the right information before it starts writing. If it needs to check a fact from an old email chain or find a statistic online to answer a client, it does that work for you automatically. If the AI gets stuck or needs more details to finish the job, it will open the “Ask AI” tool to clarify exactly what you need.
The interface is changing to support this new workflow. In the desktop version, the “Ask AI” tool now lives permanently in the left sidebar. This makes it easy to quickly draft a note, ask a random question, or schedule a meeting without digging through tabs or losing your place in your inbox. You can also view your entire conversation history across both your computer and your iPhone. Android users are getting some upgrades, too; “Write with AI” is now live on that platform, with the other new research features arriving soon.
This update follows a huge year for the company. Grammarly acquired Superhuman earlier in 2025 and recently rebranded its suite of tools under the Superhuman name. The app is clearly targeting business professionals rather than casual emailers. The most powerful version of these new AI tools—the ones that can search the web and your calendar—is only available on the Business and Enterprise plans. The Starter plan still gets basic AI writing help, but the deep research capabilities cost extra. Superhuman says this is just the beginning, promising that its software will become even more independent in the near future.
