ChatGPT is becoming increasingly powerful. OpenAI just announced that its popular chatbot can now connect directly with some of your favorite apps, including Spotify and Canva. This means you’ll soon be able to do things like create a playlist or design a poster right from inside a ChatGPT conversation.

The new integration is a big step forward for the AI assistant. To use it, you have to mention the app you want to use in your chat. For example, you could type, “Spotify, make a playlist for my party this Friday.” The first time you do this, you’ll be prompted to connect your Spotify account. ChatGPT will then make recommendations based on your request, and you can listen to the final playlist in the Spotify app.

It’s still early days for the new feature, and for now, it only works with a handful of apps. Besides Spotify and Canva, you can also connect to Coursera, Figma, and Zillow. In the coming weeks, OpenAI plans to add support for DoorDash, OpenTable, Target, and Uber.

This is part of OpenAI’s plan to make ChatGPT a central hub for various tasks. The company is even working on a way for other developers to build their own apps for ChatGPT and monetize them. This could open up a whole new world of possibilities for what the AI can do, turning it from just a clever chatbot into a true personal assistant.
