Leaked iPhone 17
Leaked iPhone 17 cases reveal details for September 9.

Anticipation for Apple’s September 9 event is reaching fever pitch, with leaks regarding the upcoming iPhone 17 series surfacing daily. Recent leaks focusing on the official Apple cases provide intriguing insights into the design of the new handsets. Multiple sources, including leakers Sonny Dickson and Majin Bu, point to significant changes in the design of Apple’s popular iPhone. Instead of complete transparency, the bottom two-thirds of the iPhone will reportedly feature a white, frosted layer, partially concealing the phone’s aesthetics.

Further fueling speculation, these leaks also suggest improvements to the functionality of the cases. The new design incorporates seamless MagSafe compatibility, eliminating the need for additional cutouts, and features a strap attachment for convenient carrying. This new feature allows users to wear their phones like a lanyard, adding a layer of practicality to the already sleek design. While these details are based on leaks and not official confirmation, the consistency between multiple sources lends credibility to their authenticity.

Adding to the mounting evidence, renowned leaker Evan Blass shared images of cases from accessory manufacturer UAG on X (formerly Twitter). These images corroborate the design changes hinted at by Dickson and Bu, showing similar frosted bottoms and enlarged camera cutouts. While Blass didn’t explicitly label each case with its corresponding iPhone model, visual comparisons with previous leaks suggest the images depict the iPhone 17, iPhone 17 Plus, iPhone 17 Pro, and iPhone 17 Pro Max. The Pro models’ cases, in particular, feature significantly larger camera cutouts that extend across the entire width of the rear.

It’s unlikely Apple will formally announce these case changes during their September 9 product unveiling. However, given the company’s typical practice, details about the revised cases are likely to be released shortly after the iPhone 17 series launch, on Apple’s official website or through authorized retailers.
