LinkedIn’s AI Hiring Tools Expected to Generate $450 Million in Sales

LinkedIn, the professional social network owned by Microsoft, announced on Wednesday that its hiring products using “agentic AI” are set to bring in $450 million in sales over the next year.

This sales figure for a core AI product is new for LinkedIn. The platform has 1 billion members and earns most of its money by selling tools to sales and recruiting professionals. While Microsoft reports LinkedIn’s overall sales growth as part of its business unit, it usually doesn’t reveal exact dollar amounts for the network.

LinkedIn has launched two main “agentic AI” products for recruiters: one for large companies and one for small businesses. These systems use an AI agent that takes instructions from a human recruiter. It understands what the recruiter is looking for and then searches through LinkedIn profiles to find the best candidates for the human recruiter to follow up with.

LinkedIn said these products, some of which were tested for nearly a year before release, are helping recruiters save time. They also get better response rates when they contact potential new hires.

“Recruiters told us half their day was low-value work, so we focused on understanding their problem to get our solution right,” Dan Shapero, LinkedIn’s new CEO who took over last week, told Reuters in a statement. “That focus on the customer, not rushing to launch an AI agent, was the right one, and hitting this milestone shows it.”
