President Donald Trump is now calling for Microsoft to fire Lisa Monaco, the company’s president of global affairs. This is the latest move in Trump’s ongoing campaign against former government officials he sees as political enemies.

Trump has long been a critic of Monaco, who served as the U.S. deputy attorney general under former President Barack Obama, not Joe Biden. He has accused her of using her old job to push investigations into his actions. In March, Trump revoked her security clearances, and now he’s using that decision to argue she should be fired from her new role at Microsoft.

In a statement, Trump claimed that Monaco’s position at the tech giant gives her “access to Highly Sensitive Information,” making her a “menace to U.S. National Security.” He pointed to Microsoft’s major contracts with the U.S. government as a reason for his concern. “It is my opinion that Microsoft should immediately terminate the employment of Lisa Monaco,” Trump said.

Monaco’s hiring at Microsoft was first reported in June. The company has not yet responded to the president’s demand. The call for her firing comes just a day after the Department of Justice indicted former FBI Director James Comey, another clear sign that the president is actively seeking retribution against government officials he believes have wronged him.
