Nvidia and CoreWeave are taking their partnership to a whole new level. The two companies just signed a massive deal that includes a $2 billion direct investment from Nvidia. This agreement goes far beyond selling computer chips; it covers everything from building data centers to getting early access to the latest technology.
With this deal, CoreWeave becomes one of the first cloud companies to use Nvidia’s next-generation “Vera Rubin” platform. This gives CoreWeave a huge head start in the race to provide AI power to other businesses. The plan is ambitious. CoreWeave wants to build “AI factories” that can handle over five gigawatts of power by the year 2030.
Nvidia is doing more than just supplying hardware. They are actually helping CoreWeave find land, secure electricity, and build the physical infrastructure needed for these massive data centers. This shows how much the AI industry now depends on finding enough space and power to keep growing.
One of the most exciting parts of the announcement involves a new product called the Vera CPU. While Nvidia is famous for its graphics chips (GPUs), it is now pushing these new central processors as standalone products. Jensen Huang, the CEO of Nvidia, called these CPUs “completely revolutionary.” They are designed to handle the heavy workloads of AI agents—software that can perform tasks on its own. By offering these CPUs separately, Nvidia gives customers more flexibility and potentially lower costs than if they had to buy an entire pre-built system.
Jensen Huang believes we are witnessing the biggest infrastructure buildout in history. He calls these new data centers the foundation of an “AI industrial revolution.” By working so closely together, Nvidia and CoreWeave are making sure they have the software and the physical buildings ready to meet the soaring demand for AI.
Michael Intrator, the CEO of CoreWeave, said the two companies have always believed that AI works best when you design the software and the physical machines at the same time. This partnership proves they are doubling down on that vision.
