After a tense negotiation that almost led to a blackout, Google’s YouTube TV and NBCUniversal have reached a new multi-year deal to keep all of NBC’s popular channels on the streaming service. This means YouTube TV subscribers won’t lose access to shows like “Sunday Night Football” and “America’s Got Talent.”

The deal ensures that YouTube TV, which is one of the largest pay-TV providers in the U.S., will continue to carry NBC’s full lineup of channels, including NBC, CNBC, and others. The negotiations had stalled over how much YouTube TV would pay to carry the content, and the two companies had to agree to a short-term extension just a day earlier to avoid the channels going dark.

The new agreement also includes a bonus for streaming fans. YouTube will now offer NBC’s Peacock streaming service through its “Primetime Channels” marketplace, allowing users to subscribe directly within the YouTube app. The deal also extends Peacock’s availability on all of Google’s Android platforms.

YouTube has become a massive force in the TV world. According to recent data, it now accounts for the largest share of TV viewing in the U.S., surpassing even Netflix and traditional giants like Disney. This growing power has given it considerable leverage in these kinds of negotiations, and the recent deal with NBC is another clear sign of its dominance in the evolving media landscape.
