Nvidia is rolling out a new update for its Nvidia App, bringing some useful new features for gamers on laptops. The latest version expands the capabilities of the company’s AI assistant, G-Assist, to now help you manage your gaming laptop’s settings, with a special focus on improving battery life.
With the new update, G-Assist can now control key laptop features like BatteryBoost and WhisperMode. These are Nvidia’s technologies designed to tame the power-hungry GPU, which helps your battery last longer when you’re not plugged in. WhisperMode also reduces the fan speed, making your laptop run significantly quieter. This is a great addition for laptop gamers, as battery life is always a major concern.
Beyond the new G-Assist features, the update also adds optimal settings for some of the latest games, including Borderlands 4, Grounded 2, and Mafia: The Old Country. It also brings support for overriding DLSS settings in a few more titles.
As with any update, this one also includes several bug fixes. Nvidia says it has fixed a problem where game setting optimizations would fail after a reboot, and has applied several other “stability fixes.” However, some users on Reddit are still reporting issues with their DLSS settings resetting after a restart, indicating that there are still a few kinks to work out.
