LG Innotek finished 2025 on a high note, reporting a big jump in profit for the final three months of the year. The company, which builds parts for some of the world’s most popular smartphones, saw its fourth-quarter net profit rise by over 27% compared to the year before.
Most of this success came from two areas: high-end camera modules and specialized components for computer chips. From October through December, the company made 135.9 billion won (about $94.3 million) in net profit. Its operating profit did even better, spiking 31% to reach 324.8 billion won. Total sales for the quarter also climbed nearly 15%.
The division that makes camera lenses and modules did much of the heavy lifting. Sales in this group grew by 15%, fueled largely by a surge in exports of expensive camera parts to the United States. At the same time, the division that produces semiconductor materials saw sales leap by more than 27%. This happened because the company started mass-producing new models for mobile devices just in time for the holiday season.
However, not every part of the business had a great quarter. The automotive components division saw sales dip slightly. LG Innotek blamed this on a “sluggish” market where industrial demand for car parts has slowed down.
When looking at the entire year, the picture was a bit more mixed. Even with a strong finish, the company’s total net profit for all of 2025 actually dropped by 24% compared to 2024. Total sales for the year grew a modest 3.3%, but higher costs earlier in the year weighed down the final numbers.
Looking forward, the company plans to stay focused on what is working. Chief Financial Officer Kyung Eun-kuk said they want to create a more stable flow of cash by expanding their semiconductor business. By building more factories to make chip substrates, they hope to meet the growing global demand and keep their lead in the tech world.
