Source : techgolly / After a nearly five-year battle, Ripple has settled its landmark case with the SEC, a major victory that could reshape the future of crypto regulation in the US.

Trump Media & Technology Group and Crypto.com have partnered to form a new company focused on accumulating the Cronos cryptocurrency. This strategic partnership, named Trump Media Group CRO Strategy, aims to replicate the success of companies like MicroStrategy, which amassed significant bitcoin holdings. The venture will employ a treasury-style strategy, aggressively acquiring Cronos tokens to build a substantial reserve. This move solidifies former President Trump’s connection to the cryptocurrency industry.

Trump Media Group CRO Strategy will enter the public market through a merger with Yorkville Acquisition Corp (YORK.O), listing on the Nasdaq under the ticker symbol “MCGA.” Funding for this ambitious venture is substantial, comprising $1 billion in Cronos tokens, $200 million in cash, $220 million in warrants, and a $5 billion equity line of credit from a Yorkville affiliate. Furthermore, Trump Media will add $105 million worth of Cronos to its balance sheet, and Crypto.com will invest $50 million in Trump Media’s common stock.

This announcement sent ripples through the cryptocurrency market. The Cronos token experienced a significant price surge of 29.6%, reaching $0.20, according to CoinGecko. Trump Media’s shares also saw a positive reaction, climbing 5.2% to $18.11. This joint venture builds upon a previously announced partnership between Trump Media and Crypto.com to develop exchange-traded funds and products under the Truth—Fi brand.

The deal reflects a broader trend among emerging crypto companies seeking to capitalize on what they see as a burgeoning market in the United States, fueled in part by crypto-friendly regulations implemented during the Trump administration. The company joins a growing number of firms utilizing SPACs (Special Purpose Acquisition Companies) to gain access to U.S. exchanges, reflecting the premium currently placed on cryptocurrency assets in the market. The move underscores the increasing integration of cryptocurrency into mainstream finance and the growing influence of former President Trump in the burgeoning digital asset landscape.
