LG Unveils New High-Tech Cooling Systems for Homes and AI Data Centers

LG Electronics is heading to Las Vegas for the 2026 AHR Expo, the biggest heating and cooling trade show in North America. The company plans to show off a wide range of gear, from simple home heaters to advanced cooling systems for the massive data centers that power artificial intelligence.

For homeowners, LG is focusing on “unitary” systems. These are very common in the U.S. and Canada, where many people live in single-family houses with high ceilings and air ducts. LG’s new inverter heat pumps promise to keep every room at a steady temperature, no matter how the weather changes outside. These systems use standardized outdoor units and air handlers to move warm or cool air through the house efficiently.

The company also has big plans for the industrial world. As AI grows, the data centers running it are getting hotter and more crowded. Traditional fans often can’t keep up with that much heat. To solve this, LG developed a liquid cooling system. It uses special metal plates that sit directly on top of the computer chips inside the servers. A liquid coolant flows through these plates to pull heat away much faster than air can. This design saves a lot of space and uses less electricity, which is a big deal for companies running thousands of servers.

LG isn’t just importing these products; they are building some of them right in the United States. They will highlight a commercial rooftop unit made at their factory in Huntsville, Alabama. This machine can keep a building warm even when the temperature drops to minus 5 degrees Celsius outside, and it does so without needing a backup heater. It also connects easily to modern “smart building” software.

Lee Jae-sung, who leads LG’s cooling division, said the company wants to lead the market by offering better tech for homes, offices, and factories. By focusing on energy efficiency and specialized AI cooling, LG hopes to become the top choice for North American customers.
